Unsaid

His eyes watched in silent, painful adoration. Hidden as he was around the corner of the room, she probably had no idea he even existed. He preferred it that way. He'd much rather look at her from afar. Her beauty made her far too unapproachable. At least, he thought so.

Others had no problem talking to her, laughing with her, being around her. There weren't others who were so enchanted by her mere glimpse that they'd be rooted to one spot for eternities. No one other than him. For him, she was like the sun, bright, too bright. And beautiful, oh so beautiful.

But dangerous.

She'd be the end of him. He knew this. She with her laugh and her wit and her beauty, would destroy him. It was an unexplained feeling. Something he just knew, like he knew fire would burn and water would drown. Some primal instinct inside him just knew. As if he was born with the knowledge.

It was because he held her in such high regard, gave her so much silent, lethal power over him; his thoughts, his actions, his very being; she could destroy him. Totally and completely annihilate him.

And so he watched from shadows.

Content being just that. Whatever that was. He wouldn't call it a crush, that word tiny in comparison to the depth of his feelings. He wouldn't call it obsession either, that word tinted with a kind of darkness that he could never ascribe to.

He just was......

Too afraid of heartbreak, he never took a chance.

Afraid of unseen danger, he ignored the very real threat. Of never living.

I mean, yeah people are dangerous, but, so is life.

Don't mean we stop living.
