If I was your boyfriend

She dashed angry tears from her cheeks, her hysterical sobs controlled through the force of sheer will. She ran the length of the corridor, her thin, graceful legs carrying her far, fast. People she passed on the way turned to watch with varying expressions on their faces. Some were amused, cruel laughter hidden behind their hands. Others pitied her, sympathetically averting their eyes.

The really despicable people though were those who stared. Their hate lined eyes followed her movement through the large school. They reasoned away their actions, confident that naive girls like her deserved to be taught a lesson. Life lesson they called it.

She ignored them all, the probing eyes, the laughter and the sympathy.

It didn't mean anything to her, neither the censure nor the support. All she wanted to do was hide away in a corner, and sob her heart out. A teenage heart that was experiencing its first break. She thought she was going to die.

Bella's maniacal screams in 'twilight' no longer seemed melodramatic.

She finally reached her locker room. A quick movement of her fingers later, she jerked open the door. HIS photos lined every available surface. Her eyes were drawn to the lone photo that had her in it, with him. It had been taken at a pool party. Her new bikini was a tad too small, but he'd said she looked beautiful. That had been enough. The photo featured them with entwined arms, standing beneath a big umbrella with happy smiles.

What a lie!

She wrenched the photo, tearing it to pieces.

More laughter echoed around her. Tears clouded her vision, and with another stifled sob, she tore every photo.

'Andrea?' he asked hesitantly from behind her.

She threw her arms around him, finding comfort in the arms of her best friend. 'I'm so humiliated Tom,' she muttered into his T-shirt, angry tears a hot moisture against her cheek.

'What happened?' he asked, his arms a safety band around her.

'He said I was never his girlfriend. And then he kissed Kate. In front of the whole school!'

His arms tightened. 'He's a jerk.'

'So you always said,' she said, raising her head to look him in the eyes. 'You warned me.'

He shrugged. Drew her back into his arms.

She hiccuped, the sting of rejection a bitter taste in her mouth. 'How come you're so good to me?'

He shrugged again.

She giggled, all cried out. 'I'm glad to have a friend like you.'

He pulled back, serious, intense. 'If you were mine, I'd never make you cry,' he vowed.

'What?' she asked, confused. 'You've never told me you think of me that way.'

'I am now.' His face was vulnerable, open, sincere.

She felt her heart flutter, a bewildering nervousness twisting her stomach. 'If you hurt me, I don't think I'd be able to bear it.'

'If I was your boyfriend, I'd never let you go.'

I was youtubing songs and came across the latest song by 'Justin Bieber'. The story followed.
