We recognized love in a chaotic place
The pandemonium around me is disturbing. The white coats mutter amongst themselves as the stench of antiseptic clogs my pores. A machine's soft beeps ring loudly in my head, echoing. Pain racks my fatigued body, my back arched off the bed. Through the storm, silently you stand, my hand safe in your grip. 'Breath dear,' you say, 'Push a little more. For me.' I look in your eyes and the love shining gives me strength. And even as curses rain down on your head, you welcome our baby with a smile on your face.
