Of man and Gods
The scraper touched the sky, floating 'neath clouds, its majestic beauty mezmerizing the Gods.
But fear they did that man would reach, their heavenly abode with his material needs
And corrupt the Gods and their eternal wisdom.
Storm cloud grew, accumulated fast, disaster flying in on wings of speed,
the earth it shook, lava flowed clear.
Amidst it all, man stood, a silly grin plasted to his face,
merriment dancing in his eyes.
He picked up a machine and his voice boomed,
the sounds reaching the heavens.
You rule here no more, he mocked
and said, for this is my planet.
The Gods furious, their ego challenged,
rained destruction on the earth.
Man continued smiling, his rockets boarded,
and catapulted into another dimension.
